Post-credit scenes in anime and why you should watch them

Ok...so maybe not ALWAYS but anime’s will surprise you and post-credit scenes can pop-up anywhere. So, the best bet is to always make sure!

Why spend every episode waiting until the end, or dealing with the frustration of trying to jump between the end-skits, and next episode's highlights? We’re about to tell you exactly why and give you an example!

Why you should check to make sure there is a post-credit scene

We know it can seem unnecessary to wait for a scene that may never show up. Eagerly, your finger waits to click the next episode, if you’re on a binge, or your mind goes straight to racing with ideas of what could come next. If you do, you could miss an unexpected treat that, half the time, won’t show up at the top of the next.

You start the next anime episode and begin to question your sanity

We’d be lying if we said there hasn’t been a time where we’ve forgotten this very rule ourselves. What followed was searching back 2, even 3 episodes to find out you missed 10 seconds after the credits. Don’t do it, don’t blame it on the anime! A lot of anime do it.

Now, while some of the post-credit scenes are epic and important, not all of them actually matter to the story. So before you go, we’ll leave you with an example of a post-credit scene that does!

That time in Seven Deadly Sins - Very very light spoilers

Anime_Lessons_Seven_Deadly_Sins

At one point in Seven Deadly Sins, a tournament occurs - like in any good anime. If you don’t watch until after the credits of the episode before the tournament, you will be left with a giant question mark above your head as they jump right into where the post-credit scene takes off. This is just one of many examples.

Another example from the show is in the second season on Netflix. If you don’t watch the post-credit scenes there, you’ve pretty much missed out on an entire mini-arc.

So while this all seems like a labor of love, that’s because it is. Some anime watchers might not actually care but if you do, congratulations, you’re a true anime lover!
